Our Philosophy
Our primary goal and responsibility is to encourage young people to become more like Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:11-15
* The main emphasis to accomplish this goal will be teaching Christian young people to develop a personal relationship with the Lord. Psalm 119:9-11
* We are concerned with the salvation of young people in and out of the church. A strong soul- winning emphasis will create focused, concerned Christian young people. Proverbs 11:30
* Our ministry and direction is in accordance with the Pastor and church; our young people are taught the importance of the local church in their lives.
* We believe that youth ministry is an extension of the parent. It is our responsibility to be a secondary supporter of Biblical truth taught in the home. Deuteronomy 4:9-10
Our desire for the youth group will not be size or entertainment, but individually helping each young person to be surrendered and growing in the Lord as much as is possible.
Our Methods
* Keep an open door for the parents to come to the Youth Pastor in a desire for open communication. We attempt to keep our parents as informed as they can be about what is taking place in the lives of their teens in our group.
* The main avenue for practical Christian growth for the teens will be the weekly Teen Meeting comprised of straight forward, sound Biblical preaching and Godly fellowship. This meeting provides a place of spiritual and enjoyable refuge from the weekly "grind."
* The Sunday School and Teen Meeting complement each other in teaching and attendance.
